Etsy is an absolute treasure trove of gifts for book lovers! Of all my Shop Small posts, this one was probably the most fun to curate because there are just so many talented makers turning their passion for all things literature into beautiful products. I've tried to keep this guide pretty general, but I do have a dedicated Shop Small: Harry Potter if you're looking for a little magic.

Prices correct at time of writing. All photos are the property of respective sellers. Affiliate links used throughout.

Are you a page folder, or old-KitKat-wrapper user? Your books deserve better, so treat them to a lovely bookmark.

Book Prints
Whatever your favourite book, and whoever your favourite author, I guarantee there is a whole host of prints on Etsy to bring them into your home! This was by far the hardest section to curate, but here are some lovely prints to suit any book lover.

Aaaand finally, if you want a thoughtful gift that any book lover will adore, the ready made mystery hampers, £17.50, from BookandTeaBoxStore could not be more perfect. Each one contains a pre-loved, excellent condition book in the genre of your choosing, a handwritten note, Pukka teabags, and Border biscuits!

What gifts would you buy for your favourite bookworm?
It's very important that I preface this post by saying that I myself am not disabled but I have written this post in the hope of supporting my disabled and chronically ill readers and bringing some attention to small businesses, particularly ones run by makers with disabilities themselves. If there are any items or shops you'd like to see added, let me know!

Badges
Not Your Inspiration Badge £1.50
I Have An Invisible Illness Badge £3
This shop is super inclusive, and one of my favourites. The seller also carries these badges with a whole variety of specific conditions, and helpful phrases like 'talk to me, not my PA' and 'I know sign language'.

Please Do Not Touch Me Badge £2.20

Home and Car
Custom Disability Warning Seat Belt £9
Tablet/Kindle Holder £7.99
I Don't Look Disabled? You Don't Look Stupid Car Sign £2.49
A tongue-in-cheek item, but after seeing some horrible posts where ignorant cavemen have left rude notes on disabled drivers' windscreens, I couldn't not include it!
Visual Aid Book £10

Children
Doll's Wheelchair £12
This seller makes wheelchairs for dolls houses and ones specifically to fit Barbies!
4-10 Years Bandana Bibs £2.49
Lots of designs available in this shop, so your child's bib can match their uniform or clothes

Whether you're wild about Animal Kingdom, Main Street is your main squeeze, or you think Epcot is the most epic, there's an Etsy seller making something magical for you! There are Disney pins, custom mouse ears, candles to bring the magic home, and I can even help you find your Disney prints (prince? get it? ha!) with my Shop Small: Disney Edition.

Castle Dreaming pin £5.09
Winnie the Pooh + Christopher Robin pin £8

Peter Pan Watercolour £4.50
'I'm Home' Finding Nemo Dory Quote £15
Lilo and Stitch Ohana Print £3

Disney Mouse Ears
I haven't been to Disney myself, but I've heard that the ears are ridonkulously expensive, so the way I see it, you may as well spend that money with an independent seller and buy a really special pair you can wear and display for years. I've just chosen a few favourites, but Etsy has a pair for every film and character.

Whether you're expecting yourself (congrats!) or shopping for upcoming baby showers and birthday parties, I hope I can help you find the perfect gift for the little one in your life.

Clothes
'Hello World I'm...' Suit £6.99
Perfect for that Instagram name announcement.
Patterned Crib Shoes £12.95
Cactus Suit And Hat £17.50
£17.50 is kind of extortionate for something almost guaranteed to be stained with various bodily fluids, but it's worth it just to take the most adorable pictures of baby sitting in a plantpot, or you can purchase just the hat for £6.50.

Nursery
Stacking Fox Decoration £14.50
This ornament can grow with your child, becoming a stacking toy when they're a toddler, while still looking stylish in their bedroom.
Customised Baby Stats Print £8.50
Grey Velvet Moon Cushion £14.90

This mat includes days, weeks, months and years, giving you more value and flexibility. You could do 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, and 1 year, then put them into a collage frame, for example.
Ice Cream Rattle £14
The soft fabric makes these safe for baby and can be spot cleaned or cold hand washed.
Teething Ring and Bib £10.99
Laura offers this set in a sugar skull and superhero prints alongside more classic animals and pastels, which I'm sure will be appreciated by parents with an alternative style.
Wardrobe Age Dividers £6

There you have it, 8 gift ideas for new additions! If you know of any more presents that babies or new parents would love please let me know in the comments, and catch up on my pet gift guide if you want even more cuteness.

I am a firm believer in including furry/feathered/fishy friends in the festivities, whether that's taking your dog to the Christmas markets or teaching your African Grey to whistle Mistletoe and Wine. Every year my cat, Monkey, gets a bag of turkey dreamies and a new toy, which she usually shuns in favour of chewing phone chargers and the rug. It's the thought that counts, hey?

a blonde chihuahua wearing KatanddogUK white pyjamas with black sprinkles and mint trim

Sprinkle Toes Dog Pyjamas
£20-£25, KatandDogUK

If you have a chilly Chinese crested or a shivering shih-tzu, here's your answer: sprinkle print dog pyjamas! They're available with a mint, pink, or red trim and all of them are absolutely adorable. Personally I wouldn't dress a dog up for fun but if they find clothes comforting or need that extra bit of warmth for Winter, you won't find any cuter than Kat's handmade designs, with her offering velvet outfits and sparkly Christmas bows alongside the sprinkle suit.

a beige, metal oval tin reading 'josie and blaze's treats' from myuniquefamily

Personalised Pet Treat Tin
£6.50, MyUniqueFamily

My clever kitty has learned to associate the sound of the Dreamies bag with treats, so we rattle it to get her running home. When I saw this tin I knew it would be even louder so she'll hear us wherever she has wandered to! It also looks pretty stylish, with its pastel vintage vibes, and you can add your pet's name in a choice of fonts.

an illustration of a bearded dragon with the text 'I will always tolerate you' above it, from pawprint illustration

Bearded Dragon Print
£3.99 Pawprint Illustration

Strictly speaking, this isn't for your bearded dragon, but it will echo their sentiments towards their humans and make a nice decoration beside their vivarium! In fact, I'm sure they'd say "tanks very much". I'll see myself out...

brown, oaty bone shaped dog biscuits from thehairyhounds

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Treats
£3.00, TheHairyHounds

You'll need something to stock that tin, and Etsy steps in again. Made from wholesome ingredients, these posh treats are kept fresh in a resealable bag for your pup to enjoy while you crack open the Quality Street! This seller also has sweet potato treats, and dehydrated liver, which I'm sure sounds delicious to anyone with four legs and a tail.

frometomew felt strawberries filled with catnip and stitched

Catnip Strawberries
£6.00, FromMeToMew

Etsy is the home of weird and wonderful cat toys. Catnip stuffed sushi? They've got it. Crocheted bloody eyeball? Of course. I went down the cute route and chose this pair of stuffed strawberries instead. I find that shop bought catnip toys can be lacking the good stuff whereas independent crafters and cat owners are more likely to give you a lot of bang for your buck, guaranteeing you a giggle on Christmas day when your cats go wild.

clear plastic bags of various flaked or powdered snail foods

Giant African Land Snail Bumper Set
£14.97, bugznbits

From cat sushi to snail selection boxes! Giant African Land Snails are more unusual but I'm sure Santa Claus wouldn't discriminate so neither will I. The owner of this shop looks like something of an expert so if you have a GALS or are considering one it's a great one to bookmark, and this set is a good all rounder to gift your mollusc mates.

a chain strung with twisted pieces of wood, sticks, and brightly coloured squares of paper

Small Rodent Chewy Palm Tree
£7.85, ChirpingChins

Anyone who has kept rabbits and rodents knows that #TheStruggleIsReal when it comes to keeping their rapidly growing teeth cut down. This stimulating toy has apple and pear wood for them to nibble, which is a much better option than dyed, flavoured toys from the pet shop.
a navy blue collar with pale plue flower pattern and rose gold buckle

Floral and Rose Gold Collar
£10, SenseofPawfection

Blame the blogger in me, but when I saw a rose gold collar I just couldn't resist including it. After all, we like to buy party clothes and jewellery at this time of year, so perhaps our pets should join in, and this seller has a whole range of beautiful collars for them. They're available in a range of sizes to suit most dogs but could possibly work for other animals, too.

There we are, another shop small round up complete! If you liked this one you might enjoy my Animal Lovers edition. If you have a Shop Small topic in mind please do let me know, I love shining the spotlight on indie businesses and showing you lovely lot what they've got.

Just five minutes browsing Etsy homewares makes me want to do a full Changing Rooms on my house and transform every corner into Pinterest perfection. Whatever you style, there will be a potter or painter who selling something that sums up your style and makes your house more homely. I've gathered my top picks for you to enjoy yourself or give as thoughtful, unique gifts.

Prices correct at time of writing. All photographs belong to respective sellers. Affiliate links used.

a tall white ceramic house with black speckles and cut out windows

Ceramic House Pencil/Candle Holder
£9.70, AquaTerraCeramics

The speckled finish of this sweet house is bang on Scandi-style, and I can imagine it looking so cosy in the Winter months. I'd gift this one with some lovely tealights (some of my faves are actually from Primark, but decant them into a posh box and nobody will be any the wiser) or if you know the recipient has children, pop in some fairy lights that will offer the same cosy glow without the fire hazard.

a rippled wood chopping board half dipped in blue, purple, and white swirls

Olive and resin chopping board
£35, Kate Chesters

If you're looking for an unusual gift, there are few that can beat these beautiful boards. Kate is self taught so each piece is made with passion and a tonne of raw talent. There are serving boards, tapas boards, and coasters, all dipped in mesmerising swirls of resin that complement the knots and grains in the polished wood perfectly. A lovely gift for foodies, new homeowners, or as a wedding present.

a wooden hoop stretched with white cloth and embroidered with colourful flowers, green sprigs, and small buds

Floral Embroidered Hoop
£14.00, StitchAmbition

I am in awe of the patience that goes into creating these Pinterest-perfect hoops I've seen around. They're absolutely gorgeous and would bring a touch of Summer to any room of the house, minus the pollen! There are lots on Etsy, so look around for your favourite flowers or colours to suit your space.

a yellow pennant sign with tassel trim. On it there is a black circle with trees, hills, and the words 'get lost' in it.

Get Lost Wall Hanging
£12.00, HelloDodo

I won't lie to you, I mainly put this one in because it actually made me LOL when I saw it, and the mustard colour and Americana vibe just reeled me in further. Obviously this is a great addition to a travel gallery wall or a child's bedroom, but I like that it could be used as a not-so-subtle sign when you need your own space. If this isn't quite your thing, the shop offers lots more punny pennant hangings and tote bags, such as 'Who run the world? Gulls'.

Felt Penguin Chick
£8.00, MeganPughArt

Felt sculptures fascinate me and Etsy is a veritable zoo of ornamental fluffy friends, so whatever your favourite creature, I bet it will be featured. Personally I think you should p-p-p-pick up one of these penguins, they're so sweet and you can choose the colour of the scarf. As they are chicks they'll make lovely gift for expectant or new families.

That's my homeware gift guide all wrapped up, check back next week when I'll be sharing my top picks for pet gifts!

Since starting my own small business, I've realised that you can feel like a needle in a haystack. There are so many marvellous makers out there that you can easily go unnoticed, and from a customer's perspective I've often found Etsy overflowing with choice too.

To make things easier for both parties, I'll be shouting out small shops on the regular basis, and finding treasures so you don't have to! What better occasion to start with than Mothers Day?
