The Tell Me More Tag

My passion for blogging is huge right now, so I wanted to take advantage of that and use this opportunity to illustrate exactly what this website means and where I see it going. Inspired by The Girl Gang chats and fuelled by my own curiosity, I created this tag to tell you more about my blog and discover more about those I love. I'm a nosy little parker, and wanted to know how other bloggers would answer! If you do take part, I'd advise going with your gut instinct- it might just surprise you.

What's the story behind your blog name?
I started a YouTube channel at university to share what I got up to while I was away from my family. It's now evolved into a diary to show future Lyd what past Lyd did. It's also a play on the classic tale, What Katy Did, and when I chose it I thought it was really original. Wrong!

What's your real reason for blogging?
Honestly, I am terrified of losing my precious memories. I have worked with lots of people with dementia and I almost blog in their honour. They can't remember their stories, so I want to cherish and celebrate all of mine even more.

Best thing about blogging?
When someone says my posts are helpful, cheering, or inspiring!

Worst thing about blogging?
The pressure. It's easy to fall into a place of worrying what X thinks, or trying to keep up with trends
and figures.

Proudest moment so far?
Walking into the room at CarnLIVal and knowing that there were people genuinely excited to see me
(and I them!). I wouldn't have the amazing friends I do if I hadn't started pouring my heart out to the

What are your ultimate blogging goals? Don't be shy!
WORLD DOMINATION. But I'd happily settle for making a difference. I would love my name to be
out there, well known, but it would only be truly satisfying if there was a good cause behind it.

If you released a book, what genre would it be?
I would absolutely love to write and illustrate a book similar to Jacqueline Wilson's. Growing up,
I read and adored all of her books, and the way each one dealt with really serious, sombre topics in a
way a child could understand. If I could put my own spin on that to write about dementia or anxiety,
I'd be so proud.

If you released products, what would they be? Homeware, beauty, or something unexpected?
There are a million things I would be honoured to create! If I could only pick one it would be
scrapbooking kits that would encourage people to get crafty, celebrate their own memories, and I'd
ensure a percentage from each one went to a relevant charity. Three birds, one stone!

What would you name the products and why?
I'd have a kit called Monkey Moo, with a black book to match my precious kitty, and red and white
polka dot accents to match the first collar we got her. I'd also make one called Bundle Of Trouble,
which was my nana's nickname for me, and that would be a pregnancy/baby one. It would come with
cards labelled '1 month, 2 month' etc for growth pictures of bump and baby!

What has blogging taught you?
I am more capable than I thought, and writing and creating are truly my passions.

Sum up your blog in three words!
1. The word shrine came to mind- I suppose it is a shrine to all things Lyd! My memories are sacred
and I feel like I'm protecting them.
2. Love- I really want to show my future self all of the people, places, and things that make my heart happy.
3. Project. I am projecting my emotions, and I also see this space as a bundle of potential to do whatever I want with.

Please have a go at this tag yourself, and tag your friends to do it too! Link me to your posts
