The New Box On the Block

How many times has a new subscription box popped up on your feed, reeled you in with its glossy pictures and first time user code, and ultimately left you £15 down, and with a stash of foil sachets that won't cover one butt cheek?

It seems that there is always a downfall to these boxes. They offer exciting surprises, but they often hold nasty shocks. P+P is a £3.95 add on, the same brands or products appear time and and time again, and sometimes there isn't a full size in sight.

Katy and Sam saw this, and decided to introduce a new contender: Curated Combination. I opened my box today and couldn't contain my excitement! For £12.50 (including P+P) the first box contained 8 full size samples from brands both old and new to me.

top: portlebay lemon sherbet popcorn in a yellow and white strips bag, bottom: pale grey bottles of toni and guy shampoo and conditioner

Toni & Guy Shampoo and Conditioner- £7.19 each
I really trust Toni & Guy products to perform professionally and leave my mop looking its best. I will test this duo when my Faith In Nature shampoo runs out. Let me know if you'd like a review!

Portlebay Lemon Sherbet popcorn
I have tried a few of Portlebay's other flavours, including a berry sherbet flavour, and I love that they have a mix of typical, fluffy pieces, combined with crispy, crunchy pieces. An exciting texture to match their unusual flavours!

blue tote bag with rose gold 'gloss like a boss' decoration, a tube of red lipgloss with gunmetal lid, and a black eyeliner

GOSH Infinitely eyeliner- £7
I have never tried anything from GOSH before, but this carbon black eyeliner and its built in smudger look like they will make a grungy, smoky eye a doddle. I'm hoping for a creamy formula that gives decent play time then sets solidly.

Superdrug Tote bag
Perhaps it's the beautiful aqua colour, but this bag has me dreaming of toting my beach bits to sunny shores! The 'gloss like a boss' slogan is cute, and the copper colour obviously appeals to my bloggy brain.

Makeup Geek Plush Matte lipstick- £9.50
This classic red shade, Beauty Queen, is the kind that instantly makes me feel glamorous. The suede finish isn't transfer proof, but I'll take the trade for a featherlight formula that doesn't dry out my lips. The scent is fruity, almost like cherry cola, and the rose gunmetal packaging is so badass it hurts.

left: white pump tube of bramley hand cream with a daisy on it, right: a white box of ark spf primer

Bramley hand cream- £12
Bramley's understated packaging always looks so clean and chic, and this luxurious handcream is no exception. While the packaging may not be bright and bold, the floral fragrance certainly is, and will transport you to a blooming meadow while nourishing your mitts.

ARK SPF30 primer- £36
I am beyond excited to give this a whirl! I'm an SPF devotee, so adding an extra layer into my routine will ensure I don't miss a spot of protection, as well as keeping my makeup from melting away as we head towards summer days.

I couldn't find prices for the tote bag or 25g bags of popcorn, but even without them, this box is worth £78.88. Might I remind you that I paid just £12.50?! There is absolutely no denying that this first box represented incredible value for money, and I am so thrilled to have received such a lovely range of products, all while supporting an independent business. If you are in the market for a new monthly treat then I would highly recommend following their twitter to see new releases, or signing up on their site.

Which item would you be most excited to try?
