My Go To Makeup

Let's just say that if makeup items were Neopoints, my 10 year old self would be very proud of my collection. I own a whole rainbow, in a variety of finishes and formulas, and yet I tend to wear these same few products almost every day. Although they could be called boring, I just find them to be the most reliable and flattering, and that gives me confidence.

My absolute favourite daytime base is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. I am extremely lucky that my skin is pale and warm enough to fit their minute selection, and I am so glad. This foundation is light in texture, light/medium in coverage, and I trust that it makes my skin look good both temporarily and in the longer term.

For night time (or heavy duty days) I reach for the Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation. The packaging leaves a lot to be desired, but it holds a water weight foundation with impressive medium/full coverage and easy peasy buildability. Oh, and there's no SPF, so no flashback!

To conceal my undereyes I love the Maybelline Eraser in a darker shade- there are no freckles there so the skin is super pale and blue. For everywhere else I like Essence 16 hour.

After prepping the canvas I put a little colour back in with a Freedom 'Matte' Bronzer which actually contains gold shimmer. Misleading, but fab for reviving a dull complexion!

I almost always have rosy cheeks anyway, thanks to embarrassing myself on an hourly basis, but when I need an artificial flush I turn to either the MUA blusher in shade 2, or the Barry M cream blush stick in Rhubarb Crumble.

My favourite every day lipstick ties in with the dusty rose tone, and that is the Essence Longlasting lipstick in 07 Natural Beauty. This lipstick perks up my face like E.T perks up moping marigolds.

a silvery brown eye crayon in a black tube lay on a piece of paper. A heart is drawn next to it to show the exact shade.

I've got singles and palettes a-plenty, I've got liners and paintpots galore. You want glitters? I got 20. But who cares? No big deal. Because I still reach for Rimmel's 'Bluffing' 9 times out of 10. It always looks polished and yet it's so easy to smudge on and buff out.
Wham. Bam. Thankyou Ma'am.

To accompany the silvery taupe shade, I always favour Benefit mascaras. I adore both Rollerlash and They're Real for dramatic, curly lashes that stay all day. Unfortunately I don't adore the price tag, so it's smudgy panda eyes for me!

Speaking of Benefit, my most used brow product is the Essence Make Me Brow, a dupe of their famed Gimme Brow. I am lucky enough to have pretty full brows, so this just adds a touch of definition and hold, and it's a breeze to apply.

So, there are my top picks for natural, confidence-boosting makeup in a flash.
