Friday Five: Crafters

With Christmas less than 2 months away, it's always good to get ahead with your gifts. It's also good to treat yourself! Whether you're shopping for stocking stuffers, redecorating a room, or just want to support a small business, it's always worth checking Etsy for independent crafters. There are so many talented people out there who can produce really special, personal pieces, and these are just a handful of my favourites. I'll be shouting out some more soon!

All pictures belong to the respective artists.

Kelly's designs really have that blogger chic look that wouldn't look out of place in Urban Outfitters or Anthropology, but by buying from her, you're supporting an indie artist, yay! From swirling marbles to intricate linework, she has a piece to suit everyone. Kelly also offers custom pet portraits with the same attention to detail, really capturing your furry friend's personality.

I went to university with Amy and she kept this talent hidden! Since getting her degree she has been able to devote more time to her passion for textile crafts, with one of her most popular items being personalised bunting, starting at just £2 a triangle and £1 a letter. It's a lovely gift for parents to be to put in a nursery, or for a student to make their accommodation feel like home.

WitchCraft
Guys. Guys. Jess' illustrations should be on clothes, wallpaper, books, everywhere. Her black and white dotwork, almost tattoo style, is so incredibly detailed, and often inspired by her favourite films such as Beetlejuice and The Addams Family, and all things gothic. Alongside prints and clothing emblazoned with her illustrations, Jess also offers similarly spooky watercolour pieces, and handstitched items like cross-stitch slogans and creepy dolls.

Bubbly Beauty Shop
For a truly unique makeup bag, look no further! Aphrodite hand embroiders the coolest patches onto her bags, and will even take custom requests if you have an idea in mind. You can buy the patches individually if you would prefer to put them onto your own items. They are so reasonably priced considering the hours of hard work put into making them, and Aphrodite also stitches really cute little scenes that would make thoughtful gifts or lovely home accessories.

Victoria Camp Allison
My sister bought me one of Victoria's beautiful rose gold constellation lockets for my 21st, and it's one of my most treasured possessions. I always prefer jewellery hand crafted by small designers, as they are one of a kind. It's so well made, and looking at Victoria's other work it's easy to see that she is passionate about making meaningful pieces.

I hope you've seen something you love! Let me know your favourite crafters, too.

  2. This post is giving me serious autumn vibes and what a great round up. I'm loving the cute autumn make up bag, although it wouldn't be that clean and tidy for long with all my make up mess! I'm also loving the locket, what a cute little gift.
